So it appears that Ted Thompson (aka Franchise Killa) DID drive Favre away after all. While I still think he did a good job putting together a contender in a relatively short period of time, I don't have any respect for the man that kicked Favre to the curb.

I think you also have to chalk one up for Yost's line-up gamble, at least in the last two innings. With Fielder batting 3rd and Braun moved to the clean up spot, the Cubs chose to walk Fielder and pitch to Braun instead. Talk about picking your poison.

If Bo Ryan doesn't get national coach of the year honors, it will be a travesty. What else do people need to prove that you can give this man any lineup you want and he'll produce a winner?

Can you remember the last time you paid this much attention to what the Brewers did at the winter meetings? The Brewers Blog at the MJS is out of control. Not sure if anything other than Riske will pan out but at least Melvin is once again actively trying to improve the team. If St. Louis comes back and asks less for Rolen, i think he should consider it but i agree with saying no at this point.

I also love how candid Melvin is in the interviews. A Mets-fan friend of mine said he's never seen a GM be so open with the media.

Looking at the glass half full, how absurd would it have sounded 3 months ago to be talking about where the Pack would be playing the NFC Championship game? I really come away from this game without too much concern.

First the bad. Yes, the secondary was atrocious. Every time T.O. went into the slot, i got worried. Brady Papinga on T.O.? You gotta be kidding me. And after showing a lot of promise, Bigby has disappointed greatly. Not only is the coverage suspect but he has 2-3 ridiculously stupid penalties per game. Many of them often put the opposing team in scoring position. Collins' return was also a bust. That image of him 10 yards away from Owens on his score said it all.

The O-line was a joke. Colledge doesn't know what the hell is going on out there and how can nobody call that nickel blitz that sent Favre to the sideline? Unreal.

The coaching/play calling was the third worst thing. Why go away from the gameplan that has carved teams up? Let Jennings/Driver do the work for you. No idea why they went away from that. And what the hell was that flea-flicker called for? I also put the question mark on going for that field goal instead of trying to get a yard on 4th and 1. Yeah, the text book might call for that but the situation did not.

On the positives, our receivers showed again that they're the best in the league. Jennings is unbelievable. iThat juke he pulled on his 43 yard reception off a 5 yard pass says it all. t's just a matter of getting it to them.

All in all, the game was so loony that if we do have to go there again, it will be much different - not sure how it will be different but it will definitely be different. I'm fine with going there again, it sets up the story book season just fine for me. Bottom line is we basically need 1 win to clinch the division and 2 for a bye. Enjoy the ten days boys and come back refreshed and ready to slam Oakland.

I was born and raised in wisconsin and now live in alabama, some people here give the badgers some respect. most of the radio jackasses give them no respect and call them frauds.now we know how the last couple of bowl games have gone, and i can tell you that the badgers have become a thorn in the side of the s.e.c.. it really pissed me off when one of the local north alabama hosts said that the badgers" were going to get raped by the auburn tigers",we all saw how that ended! that same host did give us some respect last year, but this year is back to his"big ten sucks-they are to slow"to contend for a national championship.i would really love to defend the badgers, however, they continue to do stupid shit to prove everyone right.until these players believe that they can defend the home turf and go into other places as confident as if they owned the place and knock they're dicks in the dirt,i mean make them feel it in their souls, let them know it was the WISCONSIN BADGERS who did this and that if they have a problem with it that we can be found in Madison. these people think that we are to damn soft, and really have no heart. (punch wisconsin in the mouth and they will lay down and rollover for you) i am getting tired of the -no heart-comments.there are a lot of fans who would love to tell this team about there're true feelings-do it we have put up with subpar football since week 1,and we are tired of it. stop giving the game away with mental errors, you only have so many games that you can play make the most of them, make each game your own and leave your best on the field each week, and you will not have any regrets. young men, you have not given your best effort as a team yet this year,do not let this year go down the toilet, if you will regret it for the rest of your lives. if i am not mistaken 6 of the last 9 national championship games have had a 1 loss team in the game.believe in yourselves, believe in your fanbase, most importantly believe in each other and your coaches and be there to pick each other up.you can believe that penn state will not care that you are disappointed in this loss, they are going to try and kick you while you are down.SCREW PENN STATE- BE BETTER THAN THEY ARE,play harder and want it more, and execute your plays and assignments and YOU WILL WIN!

I think it's a shaft too but i'd be angrier if i thought it actually meant anything. I'm angrier that OSU was put in front of them than the fact that they fell. Wisco is still a top-10 team which nullifies the issue last year of starting unranked. But until UW's defense gets it's collective head out of it's collective ass, I can't really blame the slight by the pollsters.

i can't believe we're still in first place. i'm so glad the cards' world series victory is fresh in our memories so we can see how a team can tank and still win the w.s. Time to send Cappy to the pen, parra to the rotation, and villanueva packing.
